Snapshots
Each month, we feature a project that we loved working on. Read about what lights us up!
June | Harvest Moon Collaboration
This month we came together to shoot a wonderful celebration of the harvest season. I took the opportunity to express my creative direction freely alongside Enika Rood. We set off in the direction to create art, to build a beautifully unique portfolio of images for all collaborators involved.
I sourced harvest themed props with Luana my new artistic friend, we drove around Te Waiharakeke picking up all of the goods from these amazing local businesses, Minghettis Bread, Sweet Creations Naked Wedding Cake, Tettonica Wine, Marathon Downs Wine, Mushroom Co, Verve Flower Farm, Figs and Fijoas by Old Road Estate, Cranky Goat Cheese. My general aim was to collect products from artists | Individuals, that align with the circular economy mindset to support our Harvest Moon vision.
I shot with my 50mm and 24 - 105mm L series lens on my Canon 6D body. I utilised my favourite LED light bulb that can change to any colour, My sunset Lamp, My LED panels and the beautiful ambiance of candle light.
May | Pic’s Peanut Butter Vibes
This month I enjoyed shooting with the Pic’s Peanut Butter team, to launch a new product. Is there a shoot that better suits our name? This one was bringing big peanut butter vibes!
We travelled to Nelson to photograph with the Pic’s team. The shoot involved heaps of fresh local produce, some enthusiastic toast testers and experimental shots on fences, couches and breakfast tables. I’m stoked with how these bold images turned out.
I sourced props to align with Pics brand. Utilising my 85mm & 50mm L series lenses on my Canon 6D body to capture most product shot. I utilised available light with the help of a reflector.
April | Seed to Celebration
This month I had the pleasure of shooting with my friend and collaborator Enika Rood for her new florals venture @_____bloem in collaboration with Verve Flowers Verve Flower Farm. I really align with Verve’s mentality of low impact no dig gardening. They also only offer seasonal flowers, they don’t ship in flowers due to high demand. This helps keep their farm carbon footprint low.
Enika Rood is the mastermind Floral Designer behind this shoot. Enika is the Florist for Verve’s summer season. Get in fast to book your weddings & events.
I thrive when working with other creatives. Capturing the incredible blooms magically transformed by Enika’s floral eye. We had a big day ahead shooting at the flower farm up the Wairau valley. Our aim was to create several looks to help their customers visualise what is possible. Our model Daisy was so vesitile going from a classic bride look to a fun colourful bridesmaid. Directing her to dance about the flowers in the rain was a highlight.
